Gearbox oil change...

I'm looking at changing my geappreciated I'dso going to renew the oil hoses as one is corroded on one of the elbows. May also be a good opportunity to fit an oil temperature gauge.
My question to anyone doing this is.. as the oil drain plug is so low, did anyone come up with an ingenious way of recuperating the oil without letting it into the bilge? I was thinking of shallow tray type affair?
Any shared knowledge greatly appreciated.
